A little about me...
I'm a young 50 year-old who works a lot to fund some fun like live music, wine pairings, farmer's markets, trips to Michigan. I have a 5 year plan to retire to my family home in the Fife Lake/Grand Traverse region. I love movies and music. My motto is that when it's all said and done, we are only remembered by how we made others feel. I try not to miss an opportunity to make anyone feel great about themselves. I know no strangers and always smile or greet people I pass. I knit and read to relax. I've lived in downtown Zionsville for 18 years and love the opportunity to entertain in my home; I'm told I could be Ina Garten's twin sister. I have a love hate relationship with digital photography. I am a career police/fire/ems dispatcher (18 years) and 4 years ago started my own family concierge business. I have a couple dozen families I work for in Zionsville, West Carmel, Westfield, and Broad Ripple. I have one child that is a senior at IU Bloomington. I'm ready to slow down for the right guy.
About the one I'm looking for...
I am looking for a fun companion who is already joyful and kind without trying to impress. I appreciate men who act like gentlemen. I loathe profanity. A great sense of humor is a must, as well as an open mind to trying new things, like music, new food. In other words, if you order chicken fingers at a restaurant and bathe everything in ketchup, we probably aren't a match :) Unfortunately for any companion, I have some great men in my life that I use as a gauge. What those men will tell you is, I'm a keeper. It's important to know that I have a serious aversion to organized religion. So if you are looking for a church companion, I am not your gal. My religion is kindness. It's also important that my companion be a registered voter and open to educated discussion about politics and the state of our culture. I love listening to ideas and I hate listening to people complain. No curmudgeons, ha! I'm a reformed Republican who will be voting to re-elect President Obama. I know I risk never being asked out, but I would prefer to date a Democrat, who is "green" and recycles, with no arrest record and a non-smoker. I know, I'm a tough one.
I'm a big girl. I've been thin and I've been thick and thin again. My job requires constant sitting and I'm looking forward to retiring in a few years so I can get back to an active life. I miss snow skiing and snowmobiling; riding horses. I was raised on a farm, chose my college because it's close proximity to a ski slope and my physical activity declined the minute I moved from Michigan to Indiana in the mid 80s. I'm very candid about my weight. When I put my self first...I lose weight, when I put others first, I don't. It's as simple as that. Right now, I'm putting others first, which feels just as good as putting myself first. I'm been divorced over a decade, all my friends I've know over 30 years, but they are all couples. I'd like to be a couple too.
